Telehealth Effectiveness and Necessity Tracker for Alaska (TENeT)

Alaska's unique geography and infrastructure challenges severely impact equitable healthcare access. Currently, there is a lack of centralised, intersecting data to help identify "healthcare deserts" based on broadband connectivity, transportation routes, existing medical facilities as well as affordability. This makes it incredibly difficult for policymakers and healthcare networks to make data-driven decisions on where to expand telehealth services or prioritize physical infrastructure. Here, this project introduces TENeT (Telehealth Effectiveness and Necessity Tracker). TENeT is an open-source geospatial dashboard that layers real-world broadband performance data over socioeconomic and healthcare infrastructure maps. By calculating both the technical capacity and economic affordability of internet access, TENeT provides policymakers with a dynamic, multi-layered visualization to precisely target telehealth funding and infrastructure deployment in rural Alaska."
