Rein: Virtual Input System and WebRTC Integration
This project aims to improve Rein, a LAN-based remote control system, by addressing its limitations in input injection and real-time communication. The current system relies on tools like nut.js and ydotool, which lack compatibility and extensibility, especially on modern Linux environments. To solve this, the project proposes a kernel-level virtual input device system using Rust for native and reliable input handling. Additionally, a WebRTC-based communication architecture will be introduced to reduce latency and improve real-time interaction. These improvements will enhance performance, cross-platform support, and prepare Rein for a stable production release.
